Saskatchewan Summer Star Party 2007 Images
Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park
Even though weather took 2 of the 4 nights I was there, it was a good time of both socializing and admiring equipment and trying out different instruments at the vendor's booths. Email addresses were exchanged and a great time was had at the sessions and banquet.
The Fr. Lucien Kemble address by Dr. Luc Simard of the Herzberg Institute regarding the TMT project most interesting as well as presentations about camping and observing in Saskatchewan's parks and Alan Dyer's presentation on down under star parties and new equipment at the Riverside event.
Of what observing was done on Wednesday night and Saturday until one was several passes of the shuttle and ISS and countless Perseid and sporadic meteors.

Beautiful dark skies and the summer milky way.

Wouldn't be a Canadian Star Party without a Moose.

There were 287 registered participants, the field started to fill up by Friday.

Weather, both thunderstorms and fog were a problem but all made do despite the cool winds.

The Science Shop and All Star Telescope were present and had many instruments and accessories on display.
Below are samples of telescopes used by attendees from all across the Country from British Columbia to Ontario, even PEI., as you can tell I have a preference for refractors.

Some of these folks you may recognize.

My next door neighbours from Calgary, Sue and Rex and on the other side I had a great couple from Winnipeg, super friendly folks!

A Perseid cuts across the sky.
