Previous telescopes

Very first scope 40mm x 40X, Gilbert refractor, 1965, bought with income from my first job when I was 15, it gave me my first views of the moon's craters.

60mm x 700mm refractor. 1971 - 1975

1975 my new wife and Tasco 11T 4.5" reflector.

My first astrophoto afocal 4.5" reflector at 50X, tri-x pan 1/30 sec. 50mm f/2.8 lens.

At the eyepiece of the 60mm x 900mm refractor. 1975 - 1986

Bausch & Lomb 4" SCT...not really great optics. 1986 - 1990

Meade Model 2080 SCT 8" f/10 good for imaging but the 4" kicked it's butt on the planets. 1990 - 1999

102mm Celestron f/12 refractor, good planetary defintion but lots of secondary color. 1999 - 2001

scope

4.7" f/8 refractor great little scope. Good color correction and excellent resolution right to the limit. I replaced the objective with a Vixen one, better resolution but little change in color, 2001 - 2004

Towa Japanese 80mm f/15, circa 1982, sharp optics, excellent color correction, this one's a keeper and I still use it.

scope

6" Skywatcher, great definition when seeing permits. Usual amount of secondary color for f/8, can deliver amazing detail under clear, transparent skies. 2004 - 2006, superceded by a Tele Vue tv102 because the 4" apo is superior both optically and mechanically.

scope

A tv76 was added for wide field low power views and comet hunting and imaging, however it has been sold to pay for the 12" dobsonian reflector.
